We are thrilled to share that the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance will be participating in London Climate Action Week 2026 (June 21\u201328), bringing to the global stage the voices, knowledge, and leadership of more than 30 Indigenous nations from the heart of the Amazon.<\/span><\/p>

Throughout the week, ASHA\u2019s delegation will champion Indigenous-led solutions for protecting the Amazon and our shared future, including Life Zones free from extractive industries, a just ecological transition, direct access to climate finance, recognition of the Rights of Nature, and stronger protections for frontline forest defenders. Amazon Voices: London Climate Action Week 2026<\/strong><\/p>

In the aftermath of COP30 in Bel\u00e9m and ahead of critical climate negotiations, the global community needs authentic Amazon perspectives from those who know the territory best. This panel creates a unique platform for Indigenous leaders and Brazilian government officials from across the Amazon basin to address international decision-makers, investors and policy influencers directly.<\/p>

Youth Climate Forum: Envisioning a Fossil Fuel Free World<\/strong><\/p>

Participants will envision a future where the world has ended its addiction to fossil fuels and identify concrete, practical steps our civilization should take to realize that vision. The forum is designed to honor and lift up the views of youth climate activists, build community among them, and strengthen their collective efforts for effective climate action.<\/span><\/p>

Uyunkar Domingo Peas<\/strong><\/p>

President\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

Uyunkar Domingo Peas Nampichkai is an Achuar leader from Ecuador with more than 30 years of leadership within the Indigenous movement.<\/span><\/p>

He is President of the Board of the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance (ASHA), co-founder of the Living School of the Amazon (EVA), and has held key leadership positions with the Achuar Nation of Ecuador (NAE), the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of the Ecuadorian Amazon (CONFENIAE), and the Achuar binational organization COBNAEP. Under his leadership, ASHA has gained international recognition, receiving the 2024 Schwab Social Innovation Award, the 2024 Keeling Curve Prize, and recognition as an Earthshot Prize 2024 Finalist. <\/span><\/p>

In 2025, Domingo was awarded the WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award for his visionary leadership in Indigenous-led conservation and environmental stewardship.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Zenaida Yasacama<\/strong><\/p>

Executive Director<\/b><\/p>

Zenaida Anabel Yasacama, from the Kichwa community of Pakayaku in Ecuador\u2019s Amazon region, is an Indigenous leader with a distinguished record in defending Indigenous rights, human rights, and rights of nature. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance, advancing a bioregional vision to protect 35 million hectares across Ecuador and Peru.<\/span><\/p>

Trained in Economics at the University of Camag\u00fcey, Cuba, Zenaida began her leadership journey in her community, serving two terms as President of Pakayaku and coordinating life plans for the Kichwa nationality.<\/span><\/p>

From 2022 to 2025, she became the first woman to serve as Vice President of CONAIE, Ecuador\u2019s national Indigenous organization, helping break barriers within the Indigenous movement. She has also played a leading role in territorial defense against mining and oil expansion and in the nationwide public mobilizations of 2021 and 2022.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Atossa Soltani<\/strong><\/p>

Director of Global Strategy<\/b><\/p>

Atossa Soltani is the Director of Global Strategy for the Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance. She is also the Founder and board President of Amazon Watch and served as the organisation\u2019s first executive director for 18 years. Atossa was named the Hillary Institute\u2019s 2013 Global Laureate for Climate Leadership. Atossa is also a member and contributing author to the Science Panel for the Amazon and a board member for the Coalition for Ecological Civilization.<\/span><\/p>

In response to the Amazon fires in 2019, Atossa helped co-found Artists for Amazonia to catalyze global action for the Amazon. Atossa served as a judge for the XPRIZE Rainforest competition for novel technologies that can expedite the monitoring of tropical biodiversity.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Fany Kuiru Castro<\/b><\/p>

General Coordinator of the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon River Basin (COICA)<\/b><\/p>

Fanny Kuiro is a Uitoto leader from the Jitomagaro clan in the Colombian Amazon. She is a lawyer and the first Indigenous woman from her community to earn a master\u2019s degree in Political and International Studies. Today, she serves as the General Coordinator of the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon River Basin (COICA), becoming the first woman to lead the organization in its 40-year history.<\/span><\/p>

She played a key role in securing legal title to six million hectares of the Predio Putumayo Indigenous Territory and has been recognized among the 100 most influential Latinas advancing climate action, as well as one of 21 leaders changing the world.
